Normally, placing a dental crown, inlay or onlay requires more than one visit to the dentist, but by using CEREC technology, our dentists can perform the entire procedure in one visit.
How Dental Crowns Work
Crowns are porcelain caps that are placed on top of teeth to restore their function and appearance. Crowns are used to attach bridges, cover implants, repair a cracked tooth, or help restore a discoloured tooth to its natural appearance.
The Crown Procedure
Placing a dental crown requires two dental appointments. At your first appointment, your dentist will prepare and take an impression of the tooth which will be used to create a custom crown. While your crown is being made, you may be fitted with a temporary crown.
Once it's ready, you will return for a second appointment where your crown will be placed and sculpted just for you so that your bite and jaw movements function normally.
